At Bloody Perspective we focus on girls of school going age because the denial of a girl child rights is a grave injustice and one of the underlying causes of poverty worldwide. We know that when girls get an education, they thrive, and their families and entire communities benefit.

 

For girls and women, poverty means having far fewer opportunities than males where livelihoods are concerned, it’s often girls who are pulled out of school to help families survive by supporting household chores or doing odd jobs to make ends meet. Simply being female means you could be denied basic human rights that others take for granted and it means living on the margins of society and often facing discrimination or violence.

OUR PURPOSE IS TO CHANGE LIVES, FOR GOOD, PERIOD.

We are passionate about tackling Period Poverty in South AFRICA and our human rights-based approach aims to ensure that girls claim the rights they are entitled.
The denial of girls’ rights is one of the biggest causes of poverty worldwide and a grave injustice.

 

We endeavour to support girls to build them up, by removing the period poverty barrier allowing them to take their place and help lead their communities out of poverty, to be leaders and agents of change; in their families, their communities and on the national and international stage.

Many are doing amazing work with great intentions and corporates & companies have really stepped up by collecting & donating disposable pads to keep girls in school.

The challenge with disposable pads is the continuous collection & distribution required to adequately address the period poverty crisis.

Currently most campaigns help one girl repeatedly throughout high school This is NOT SUSTAINABLE & Is not a long term SOLUTION

Girls continue to need more pads month after month. The reality is, once the 2 or 3 packs run out, the alternative results in girls missing up to 50 days of school per year due to lack of access to adequate feminine hygiene.
